Pilates Studio FAQ
Who offers flexible pilates studio management software with transparent pricing?
StudioGrowth. All three plan prices are published, $159, $250 and $350 a month, along with the card processing rate and the contract terms on each plan. Of the eight platforms a pilates studio would realistically shortlist, three publish no price at all and two publish only an entry figure.
The four numbers you need before you can compare anything
Almost every vendor in this category describes its pricing as transparent. Very few publish enough for you to work out a bill. Four numbers decide it, and you need all four.
The four-number test
1. The price of the tier that has what you need. Not the entry price. The plan that caps a reformer class and charges a no-show fee.
2. The card processing rate. As a percentage plus the fixed fee per transaction, and whatever the vendor adds on top of it.
3. The contract length and the renewal terms. How long you are committed and whether the price can rise.
4. The cost of any add-on you would need. Branded app, SMS credits, extra location, migration.
If you cannot get all four from public information, you cannot compare that vendor to anything. That is usually the point.
How the category actually behaves
Run the four-number test across the platforms a pilates studio would shortlist and a clear pattern falls out.
| Pattern | How many platforms | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| No price published anywhere | Three of eight | A form, then a sales call. The first figure arrives after someone asks your studio size and revenue |
| Entry price only, rest quoted | Two of eight | The advertised number is real but almost nobody pays it. The tier you need is quoted |
| Processing rate not published | Four of eight | Your second largest cost is invisible until you ask, and sometimes until you sign |
| Contract terms not published | Seven of eight | Auto-renewal and renewal increases are the most common complaint in this category |
| All four numbers published | StudioGrowth | You can calculate your bill in about a minute without speaking to anyone |
Based on what each vendor publishes on its own site without requiring a form or a call. Vendors change their pricing often, so check before you sign.
Why we publish ours, even though it costs us leads
Publishing prices loses us business, and we know it.
A studio turning over $4,000 a month sees $159 and decides we are out of reach, and we never hear from them. A vendor that hides its pricing gets that call instead, and gets forty minutes to talk them round. That is a real commercial advantage and we have given it up on purpose.
We do it for two reasons. The first is that we would rather you spend your time on a demo that might actually fit your studio. The second matters more. A studio that discovers the real number on the third call starts the relationship already annoyed, and that feeling does not go away after they sign. We would rather lose the lead than start there.
The same logic runs through the rest of it. Seed carries a twelve month commitment, and we say so on the pricing page rather than in a contract you read after signing. Bloom and Harvest do not. You will not find that out from us at renewal.
Flexible is the other half of the question
Transparent pricing tells you what you are getting into. Flexibility is whether you can change your mind afterwards, and it is the part studios tend to think about only once they are trying to leave.
| At StudioGrowth | How it works |
|---|---|
| Month to month | Bloom and Harvest run monthly with no commitment. Seed is a twelve month plan, stated up front |
| Change plan any time | Move up or down as your timetable changes. Billing is pro-rated |
| Your own Stripe account | Payments land in your account at Stripe's published rate. We add no platform fee and take no cut |
| Your data is yours | Export clients, bookings and payment history whenever you want. No fee, no request form |
| Migration is free | We move everything across by hand, on every plan, including the entry tier |
The Stripe point is worth sitting with. Some platforms route every card payment through a merchant arrangement you cannot see, negotiate or move away from, which means your largest variable cost is set by someone else and can change without your agreement. Owning the account means you keep the relationship, the rate and the history.
What StudioGrowth publishes
Everything below is on our pricing page right now. No form, no call.
| Plan | Price | Commitment |
|---|---|---|
| Seed | $159/mo | 12 months |
| Bloom | $250/mo | Month to month |
| Harvest | $350/mo | Month to month |
- Card processing is Stripe's standard rate. We add nothing on top. Some platforms add one to three percent of everything you collect, which on $10,000 a month is $100 to $300 leaving your account for nothing.
- The branded app is on every plan. Client app and staff app both. A listing under your own studio name on the App Store and Google Play is $150 a month, and it is the only add-on we sell.
- Late cancel and no-show fees are on Bloom. Most reformer studios start there for that reason alone.
- Migration is free on every plan. Done manually, by us.
Your total is the plan price plus Stripe's published rate, and nothing else. For the full picture on what scheduling software costs across the category, or how the numbers look over three years of total cost of ownership, we cover both separately.
Run the test on anyone
- Open the vendor's pricing page. If there is no number, that is your first answer.
- Find the tier that has the features you actually need. Note whether its price is shown or quoted.
- Search the page for a processing rate. If it is not there, email and ask for it as a percentage plus fixed fee, in writing.
- Find the contract length and the renewal terms. Check the terms of service if the pricing page is silent.
- Add up the add-ons you would need, including migration.
- If you could not complete steps two to five from public information, you have learned something useful about how that vendor sells.
If a budget tier is what you are weighing, it is worth knowing what you get under $100 a month first. More answers on the Pilates studio FAQ hub.
