My team and I spend our days working with yoga studio owners and have a deep understanding of the challenges faced by studio owners. We also receive first-hand feedback about the yoga studio software they use. This guide will help you shortlist 2-3 providers that fit your business well.

Yoga Studio Software Purchase Process

Different yoga studio software providers serve different parts of the market. Some specialize in start-up and individual yoga teacher businesses, while others help small and mid-sized yoga studios. A few yoga studio software providers focus on the upper end of the market, serving large yoga studios and franchises.

Before you explore yoga studio scheduling software for your yoga studio, have a realistic understanding of the current stage of your business and a clear plan for your desired growth potential. Based on your goals, you can begin to shortlist yoga studio software companies that serve your end of the market.

You will most likely begin by searching online, reading reviews, and getting recommendations from other yoga studios. As you progress through this guide, you should identify 2-3 yoga studio software companies that will fit your yoga business well.

Then you can begin scheduling free trials and demos of the shortlisted platforms. Often I see yoga studio owners hiring consultants to help them with the process. You can complete the purchase process if you are clear about your requirements.

The final step is negotiating the pricing and terms. Most providers have fixed pricing, but you’d be surprised by the discounts you receive simply by asking.

How Much Does Yoga Studio App Cost?

A typical yoga studio app and software costs between $30 and $700 per month, depending on the features you use and sometimes on the number of teachers and customers in your studio.

Some yoga studio software companies also charge hidden or transaction fees per transaction on top of the processing fees charged by your payment processor. Such transaction fees can increase your monthly fees by up to 10%.

Identify all hidden transaction and processing fees bundled into the pricing. Avoid companies that charge a percentage per transaction at all costs. Per transaction fees are made up to increase the top-line revenue of software providers and often contribute to 30-40% of total revenue generated.

Ranking The Top 15 Best Yoga Studio Software

1. StudioGrowth

StudioGrowth

StudioGrowth is the top choice for yoga studio software, given the extensive features, exceptional support, and price compared to other companies.

The platform started by providing software exclusively to yoga studios. Over the years, they have continuously added new and innovative features and the platform is currently at par with the industry standard platforms.

The most significant advantage of working StudioGrowth is the support and personal attention offered. You will receive replies within minutes, and your feedback informs feature development. You also get to work directly with the founders.

StudioGrowth is an entirely bootstrapped company that has not taken on or plans to take on venture funding. Due to this, the team is selective about the studios they work with and focuses on the customers’ needs.

They guarantee no price increase and can deliver on the promise because of owning 100% of their business. The founding team brings extensive experience and expertise in working with yoga studios. They have grown exponentially over the last year and should be on your list to see a demo.

You can review their features here.

Price

The pricing structure is simple and designed to support yoga studio owners. There are no hidden fees or transaction/processing fees.

  • Fixed price guarantee, no price increases to current customers
  • No hidden fees
  • USD 99/month on the annual plan and USD 139/month on the monthly plan
  • All-inclusive access to all features
  • Unlimited usage, unlimited customers, and unlimited staff accounts

Why is it in the top 15

  • The platform is highly configurable. Since it’s focused on yoga studios, it has all the features you will need for your yoga studio.
  • The branding capabilities are by far the best in the industry. You will be hard-pressed to find another platform with such strong branding capabilities making the platform seem like your own brand.
  • Second-to-none support team. The team offers lightning-fast support to customers. The question remains, will they maintain the same support rhythm as the company grows?
  • Quickly catching up to industry incumbents and StudioGrowth has seen customers migrate to it from most of the incumbent software providers.

PROS

  • Exceptional support and customer onboarding ensure you will be successful once you start using their platform.
  • A modern, simple, and easy-to-use interface
  • Having only the essential features makes the platform lightweight and intuitive.
  • Built specifically for yoga studios

CONS

  • The small team and young company may not be suitable for everyone.

BEST FOR

  • Yoga studios of all sizes. The pricing makes it especially attractive for larger studios with many customers and instructors.
  • Multi-disciplinary yoga studios. The platform has features for appointments, retreats, etc., and is well-suited for offering pilates and Barre specific classes.
  • Start-up and growing yoga studios

NOT FIT FOR

  • Yoga studios with 10+ year history on another platform

2. Mariana Tek

Mariana Tek Logo

Mariana Tek stands as a cutting-edge force in the realm of yoga studio software, providing a platform specifically engineered for yoga studios’ unique needs. The software is rooted in Mariana Tek’s deep understanding of the industry, seamlessly combining robust functionality with an enjoyable user and client experience.

Mariana Tek’s software is known for its intuitive interface, designed with both studio management and clients in mind. This translates into a simplified, streamlined process for scheduling and booking, leading to a more engaging experience for students and, in turn, encouraging consistent attendance.

One of the standout attributes of Mariana Tek is their unwavering commitment to customer support. They have a dedicated team that works tirelessly around the clock to ensure swift issue resolution. This level of dedication ensures minimal disruption to your business operations, allowing you to focus on what you do best – providing exceptional yoga experiences.

A unique strength of Mariana Tek lies in its integrated marketing automation features, giving studios an extra edge in a highly competitive market. The ability to create and manage targeted marketing campaigns directly through the platform can lead to increased client engagement and growth.

Moreover, the platform stands out with its offer of a custom-branded app unique to your studio. This aspect alone sets Mariana Tek apart, as it allows your brand to shine while also providing an additional touchpoint for client interaction and engagement.

Price

Mariana Tek is aware of the varied needs of different yoga studios, hence they offer an array of pricing tiers to accommodate a wide spectrum of budgets. While specific pricing information is best obtained through consultation, I can provide an indicative range based on feedback from customers.

  • There are different pricing tiers based on the features you use and the number of locations.
  • The pricing range starts from $300/month (indicative)

Why is it in the top 15

  • An intuitive, feature-rich platform designed with a laser focus on the needs of yoga studios.
  • Unmatched customer support provided by an industry-leading team
  • Integrated marketing automation capabilities and a custom-branded studio app that set you apart from the competition

PROS

  • Comprehensive, intuitive platform tailored specifically for yoga studios, ensuring ease of use for staff and clients alike
  • Integrated marketing automation and custom branded app, providing a unique platform for growth and brand-building
  • Exceptional customer support that is responsive and diligent, ensuring minimal disruptions to your operations

CONS

  • While it provides comprehensive and high-value offerings, it may not be as budget-friendly as other platforms
  • Depending on the studio’s needs, some features might exceed the requirements

BEST FOR

  • Yoga studios looking for a comprehensive, integrated solution to manage operations, marketing and client experience
  • Studios keen on strengthening their brand and enhancing client experience through a custom app

NOT FIT FOR

  • Individual yoga teachers or small studios with limited budgets or simpler operational needs
  • Studios that prefer traditional marketing channels or are not keen on leveraging technology for brand-building

3. Mindbody

Mindbody

Mindbody is the most popular and widely used yoga studio software, with tens of thousands of yoga studios globally using the platform. It was among the first providers of yoga studio software in the cloud in the early 2000s.

Most yoga studio owners learn about Mindbody in the studios they attend or through word of mouth. Many competitors tried to compete with Mindbody over the years, but none have come close to the platform’s extensibility.

However, since 2015 the business has changed hands several times, and today the common complaint I hear is that the platform is bulky, difficult to navigate, and buggy.

Of late, there has been a mass exodus of customers from Mindbody, primarily driven by the increase in pricing. In 2013 the average price for the platform was $120/month; today, it is over $400/month for similar features with minimal innovation.

Mindbody offers every feature you will need to operate your yoga studio. You cannot go wrong with Mindbody if you are comfortable using a bulky platform and paying exorbitant monthly prices.

The most significant advantage of Mindbody is the community. You get access to their extensive network of studios and their yearly events. You also get access to new customers through their network. However, other providers can tap into Mindbody’s network through integration with ClassPass.

Overall, Mindbody is a safe bet if you don’t want to explore other options on the market and have a high budget for yoga studio software. I find the software hard to use, the look and feel are not modern, but they have improved the front-end customer-facing pages.

Price

The pricing changes often, and as of this writing, the pricing is as follows:

  • There are different pricing tiers based on the features you use and the number of locations.
  • The pricing ranges from $159/month to over $700/month, depending on the features you use
  • Mindbody also uses its own payment processing, so do explore the processing fee.

Why is it in the top 15

  • The most widely used yoga studio software platform on the market
  • Comprehensive platform with every feature you will ever need
  • The most extensive reporting capabilities in the market

PROS

  • Deep expertise and industry knowledge of the yoga studio industry
  • Trusted by some of the most popular yoga studios globally
  • Highly configurable platform, although you may need a consultant to help set up the platform the way you want it

CONS

  • Expensive for what it offers. You will find similar feature sets in other platforms at a fraction of the price of Mindbody.
  • Difficult to use and not built for the modern consumer
  • The support team is not the best. It can sometimes take weeks to get hold of someone to help you.

BEST FOR

  • Large studios with multiple locations
  • Franchises

NOT FIT FOR

  • Studios that are looking to build a brand and provide a modern experience to their customers.
  • Smaller studios with under ten instructors/teachers
  • Start-up studios
  • Non-tech savvy users
  • Studios that want a modern, intuitive, and affordable platform

4. Wellness Living

Wellness Living

Wellness Living was one of the strong competitors of Mindbody when it first started. Today, although widely used, Wellness living lags behind most other platforms regarding features, usability, and providing a modern customer experience.

Wellness Living has all the features you need to operate your yoga studio. They have a much better implementation of certain features, such as linking family members within the platform and sharing passes/memberships.

The most common complaint I hear from Wellness Living users is that they did not honor the fixed price commitment for legacy users. Additionally, users are sold features they don’t need, and it is next to impossible to get out of their contracts, no matter the reason.

Wellness Living is a widely used platform, although it has lost its edge and is among the old-school providers with a dated user interface. However, it is more affordable than Mindbody, and some studios might find it attractive based on the price.

Price

The pricing depends on the number of features you use. Although the pricing seems affordable, you most likely won’t be able to operate your entire studio on the base plan.

  • The pricing starts at $89/month per location and can go up to $200-$300/month depending on the features you use
  • Wellness Living uses its own payment processor, so do investigate the processing fees.
  • Premium features such as on-demand video and website management are sold as add-ons

Why is it in the top 15

  • Popular yoga studio platform used by thousands of yoga studios globally.
  • Extensive feature set. You cannot go wrong with Wellness Living if your sole criteria are extensive features.
  •  Affordable pricing for studios of all sizes

PROS

  • Affordable pricing for studios of all sizes
  • Complete platform with extensive features

CONS

  • A common complaint is that studios did not get what was promised.
  • The user interface looks dated and is difficult to use
  • Hard to get out of contracts
  • Limited branding capabilities

BEST FOR

  • Multi-location studios and franchises

NOT FIT FOR

  • Studios that want to build a brand. Every studio on Wellness Living has the same interface and branding.
  • Individual operators and studios with under five teachers

5. Momoyoga

Momoyoga logo

I love Momoyoga because its platform delivers what they say. They are obvious in who they serve – yoga teachers, and deliver on the promise. The platform is a delight to use.

However, if you operate a studio with several teachers and complex requirements, I would avoid Momoyoga. It is best suited for individual yoga teachers and very small yoga studios.

Momoyoga is one of the few companies that have executed very well on the user experience. The platform is straightforward to use and delights the user. However, simplicity comes at a cost – the lack of features.

Although Momoyoga was established in 2016, they seem to have decided to keep their platform lean and straightforward with fundamental features such as scheduling and payments.

If you want software as an individual yoga teacher, I will choose Momoyoga. However, Momoyoga will most likely be the wrong choice if you operate a studio, given the lack of critical features.

Price

The pricing depends on the number of teachers and is affordable, given other platforms charge thousands per month.

  • Momoyoga has a free tier, but they take a 5% fee on every transaction at this level. I am firmly against the business model of dipping into your sales, so I would avoid this tier.
  • The monthly pricing starts at $25/month for individual yoga teachers.
  • For studios, the pricing starts at $30/month and $5/month for every additional teacher account.

Why is it in the top 15

  • One of the few platforms primarily focused on yoga teachers rather than yoga studios.
  • Beautifully designed and a pleasure to use
  • Multi-language capabilities
  • Multiple payment methods, including Paypal
  • An affordable platform for yoga teachers that are just beginning their career

PROS

  • Focussed on the yoga teacher experience and needs
  • Simple and affordable pricing
  • Modern user interface and design
  • Supporting European languages

CONS

  • Minimal features and the platform almost becomes non-functional for large yoga studios

BEST FOR

  • Individual yoga teachers. No other better platform on the market for individual teachers.
  • Studios that need a multi-language platform. If you need European language support, Momoyoga is a good choice.

NOT FIT FOR

  • Studios of any size. If you are a sole operator, you can get by but will miss the features other platforms offer.
  • Large studios and franchises

6. Ubindi

Ubindi logo

Ubindi is another gem that does not get the attention it deserves. The platform is built specifically for yoga teachers and not so much for yoga studios, which is good because far too many yoga teachers get caught up with expensive, clunky studio software they do not need.

If you are an individual yoga teacher with no plans to operate a sizeable studio or are just testing the waters, Ubindi and Momoyoga should be your top choice.

I love that the team behind Ubindi has an active business basics course available on Udemy for yoga teachers. My only issue with Ubindi is the pricing model – their free and essential tiers take a percentage of your sales.

I recommend Ubindi for individual yoga teachers. It has enough features to get you started and is simple and lightweight. When starting up, you don’t need anything more complex than that.

Price

Ubindi offers three pricing tiers:

  • The free tier allows you to manage up to 50 students but charges a 5% platform fee (taking 5% off your revenues)
  • The essential tier is $8 per month, enabling you to manage unlimited customers, taking up 2% of your revenues.
  • The pro tier is $69 monthly for unlimited usage and no platform fees.

Ubindi is by far the most affordable platform on this list.

Why is it in the top 15

  • One of the few platforms explicitly built for independent yoga teachers.
  • They know who they serve and have a focused platform.
  • Affordable, simple, and easy-to-use platform

PROS

  • Extensive feature set rivaling the more significant software providers in the industry
  • Some of their feature design is among the best in the industry. For example, their Zoom integration is top-notch.
  • Affordable pricing

CONS

  • I tried the software and can’t imagine using it for a studio with hundreds of students and multiple locations.
  • The flexibility in package and membership creation is limited.
  • As always, I am not a fan of pricing, which take a percentage off your revenues, no matter how small.

BEST FOR

  • Independent yoga teachers

NOT FIT FOR

  • Yoga studios with multiple instructors
  • Yoga studios that offer numerous classes and services

7. Zenplanner

Zenplanner Logo

Zenplanner is part of the Daxko group that includes other fitness platforms such as SugarWOD and Uplaunch. Recently, the platform has had a much-needed facelift and provides a decent user interface.

However, Zen Planner focuses more on gyms than yoga studios. Their CRM, Uplaunch, is built for the modern gym. Considering the specific focus on the fitness industry, Zen Planner will be low on my list of options.

Zen Planner provides all the features you need to operate your yoga studio. It is an option in case the pricing of Mindbody is out of your budget. The only reason I would consider Zen Planner is for their staff payment module, which is very comprehensive.

Price

The pricing of Zen Planner is tiered based on the number of active customers you have.

  • At the lower end, the pricing is $49 per month for up to 15 customers
  • At the higher end, the pricing is $267 per month if you have over 250 customers.

When comparing pricing, make sure to consider the payment processing fees. Zen Planner uses its own payment processor, and hidden fees from payment processing can sometimes add up to 30% of its revenue.

Why is it in the top 15

  • Popular software from the fitness industry with relevant features used by yoga studios
  • Affordable pricing at the lower end
  • Full suite of solutions from studio management to CRM to personal training software

PROS

  • Full suite of solutions and one-stop shop for all your studio needs
  • Access to industry experts and guidance

CONS

  • Old dated platform
  • Platform built specifically for the fitness industry, serving other sectors such as schools and yoga studios. Not yoga industry specific

BEST FOR

  • Studios with complex payroll requirements
  • Yoga studios with fitness offerings

NOT FIT FOR

  • Yoga studios that want a platform built for the yoga industry
  • Yoga studios that want to create a brand (limited branding capability)

8. Puchpass

Punchpass Logo

Punchpass is a good option for small and medium-sized yoga studios. The team has added many features. However, I find the platform to be not as mobile-friendly. Although they have an app, it is a PWA (progressive web app) and not a native app which poses its own challenges.

I love the story of Punchpass and how they have built their business organically. The team continues to build the platform based on feedback from its customers.

During the pandemic, there was a mass exodus of customers from Mindbody because of the glitchy live-streaming module they made. Punchpass was able to capitalize, and its user base grew exponentially. Punchpass was among the first platforms to provide a seamless Zoom integration, and several yoga studios moved to Punchpass.

The feedback I hear from Punchpass customers is positive. The biggest complaint I have heard from multiple customers of Punchpass is the glitches in reporting, and they cannot trust the reporting and numbers provided by the platform.

Overall, Punchpass is a decent platform at a fraction of what the incumbent players charge.

Price

Punchpass has tiered pricing based on the features you use. They don’t have any hidden fees apart from the Stripe processing fees.

  • The lowest tier is $49/month, but you most likely won’t find this tier useful as it lacks core functionality such as recurring payments.
  • The middle tier is $99 monthly, which you will most likely need for a small or medium-sized yoga studio.
  • The highest tier is $149 monthly and offers some marketing and CRM functionality. Although the functionality is limited compared to complete CRM provided by Zenplanner and other providers

Why is it in the top 15

  • Innovative company building a platform based on input from its users

PROS

  • Affordable pricing
  • A sufficient feature set to provide a complete toolset for any yoga studio

CONS

  • A small team may not be to the liking of studios that prefer 24/7 support.
  • Not the best experience on mobile
  • Focussed on the fitness industry

BEST FOR

  • Small and medium-sized studios

NOT FIT FOR

  • Large yoga studios with 5+ instructors
  • Franchises
  • Yoga studios that want to build a brand (limited branding capabilities)
  • Yoga studios that require 24/7 global support

9. Acuity Scheduling

Acuity Scheduling Logo

When I get demo requests from individual yoga teachers who want to offer a few yoga classes a week and teach yoga as a side hustle, I always refer them to Acuity.

Acuity offers a simple, lightweight scheduling platform. Although it is a generic scheduling platform, it is sufficient for any yoga teacher to schedule a few weekly classes.

You won’t find the bells and whistles like staff payroll, flash sales, or branding capabilities, but if you don’t have a studio and are just starting up, I highly recommend Acuity scheduling. You get the basic features: basic scheduling, payments including recurring payments, and appointments.

Acuity Scheduling is part of Squarespace, so if you use Squarespace for your website, you will most like have the scheduling module included in the price.

Price

The pricing of Acuity Scheduling depends on the number of staff accounts, locations, and features you use.

  • The lowest tier starts at $20 monthly and limits you to one staff member and location. This tier is sufficient if you are starting up.
  • The middle tier is $36 monthly, offering additional features such as SMS and removing the acuity branding.
  • The highest price tier is $61 monthly and gives you access to all features and up to 36 staff and locations.

Why is it in the top 15

  • Simple starter scheduling platform with basic and sufficient scheduling functionality
  • Affordable at the lower end. Ideal for individual yoga instructors

PROS

  • Simple and easy to use with a slight learning curve (you will appreciate this when you realize you need to spend months learning other complex platforms)
  • Affordable and transparent pricing

CONS

  • This platform will not work for you if you have a yoga studio. it is meant only for individual operators
  • Generic scheduling platform, not built for the yoga studio workflow

BEST FOR

  • Individual yoga teachers

NOT FIT FOR

  • Yoga studios with more than one instructor

10. Bookamat

Bookamat Logo

Bookamat is another option on my list that does not get enough attention. I have covered several software providers focused on yoga teachers and studios on this list, and Bookamat is one of the specialist providers.

The software has the core functionality needed to operate a yoga studio – scheduling, payments, and member management. The biggest drawback is the lack of branding capabilities resulting in you carrying their branding on your schedule.

Bookamat also offers a member app, but similar to Punchpass, they provide a PWA (progressive web app) and not a native app. The limited core functionality makes the platform easy to use and a good choice for small and medium-sized yoga studios.

Price

Bookamat has an interesting pricing model. The platform is free to use for up to ten active clients. You are charged $0.79 monthly for each additional active customer, and the price caps at $89/month.

I like this pricing model as it aligns with the yoga teacher’s and studio’s interests.

Why is it in the top 15

  • Platform focussed on yoga teachers and yoga studios.
  • The core functionality to get you started

PROS

  • Affordable price compared to incumbents
  • Simple and easy to use

CONS

  • Limited functionality not suitable for studios with complex requirements
  • Non-existent branding capabilities

BEST FOR

  • Individual yoga teachers
  • Small studios with fewer than three yoga teachers

NOT FIT FOR

  • Yoga studios that want to build a brand. The platform does not have branding capabilities.
  • Mid-sized (with over 100 active customers) and large yoga studios
  • Yoga studios with multiple offerings and advanced requirements

11. Schedulicity

Schedulicity Logo

Schedulicity is built for various use cases and is widely used by individual yoga teachers and small yoga studios. It also offers group class bookings, but its most vital feature is the appointment booking feature.

One of the critical benefits of Schedulicity for yoga studios is its ability to simplify the scheduling process. Another advantage of Schedulicity for yoga studios is its marketing tools. The software provides email marketing tools and automated marketing campaigns to help studios promote their classes and events.

The key challenge with Schedulicity is that the platform is dated and generic. Customers cannot see your class packs and memberships until they book a class. Additionally, there are no branding capabilities. The feedback I get from Schedulicity customers is that they are happy, although the platform is not perfect because the pricing is affordable.

Price

The pricing of Schedulicity depends on the size of your business, the features you use, and the number of teachers. The various tiers are as follows:

  • Free tier: This plan is suitable for individual practitioners who only need to manage their own schedules. It includes basic scheduling features, online booking, payment processing, and appointment reminders. There are no monthly fees, but Schedulicity charges a 10% transaction fee for payments processed through the software.
  • The highest tier plan costs $99 monthly and is suitable for larger businesses with unlimited service providers. It includes all features of the base plan, plus additional customization options, multi-location support, and priority customer support.

Why is it in the top 15

  • Multi-purpose scheduling and billing platform that can be used by individual yoga teachers and small yoga studios

PROS

  • Affordable pricing
  • Extensive feature set

CONS

  • The platform is not specific to yoga studios.
  • Limited branding capabilities

BEST FOR

  • Individual yoga teachers
  • Small yoga studios

NOT FIT FOR

  • Yoga studios that want to build a brand and offer a modern user experience
  • Large yoga studios
  • Franchises

12. Tula Software

Tula Logo

Tula was founded in 2011 and is well-loved by its users. It was explicitly made for independent yoga studios. The platform was designed to be super user-friendly, covering everything from class scheduling and student registration to attendance tracking and payments.

Current customers of Tula love the public calendar view, although I find the design dated. Tula is great for small to medium-sized yoga studios. It works with popular payment processors like Stripe and PayPal, and given that it has been on the market for 10+ years, it has all the features you would expect from a yoga studio scheduling software.

Its customers love Tula, but it might not be the best fit for big studios or franchises, and if you’re looking for advanced features beyond the basics, you might find it a bit lacking. But overall, I think it’s a solid option for most independent yoga studios.

Price

The pricing has two tiers and depends on the features you use.

  • The base plan is $129/month, and you will need to pay for additional add-ons such as electronic waivers, storage, and finding a sub feature.
  • The premium plan includes all the features and is $179 per month.

Why is it in the top 15

  • A platform built specifically for yoga studios.
  • Strong loyalty among its customers

PROS

  • Simple, affordable pricing
  • It has all the features you will need to operate and grow a small/mid-size yoga studio.

CONS

  • A small team might not be a good fit if you are looking for regular platform updates and innovation.
  • A platform built in 2011, so some might consider it dated

BEST FOR

  • Small and medium-sized yoga studios

NOT FIT FOR

  • Large yoga studios
  • Franchises
  • Start-up yoga studios and independent yoga teachers

13. Omnify

Omnify

Omnify is a versatile scheduling and booking platform founded in 2016 and caters to various service-based businesses, including fitness centers, yoga studios, swimming pools, and more. The platform serves multiple industries, so it is an option for independent yoga teachers and small yoga studios. It will not work for you if you have yoga studio-specific workflows.

The platform simplifies the process of booking, scheduling, and managing classes, appointments, and events while offering a good customer experience. Omnify provides all the essential features you expect from a yoga studio management software: scheduling, member management, payments, and marketing automation.

Price

Omnify’s pricing depends on the number of staff and the features you use. They also take a percentage of your revenues, putting it at the bottom of the list as such pricing is not yoga studio owner friendly.

  • The base plan is free for up to 2 staff members, but Omnify takes a 5% transaction fee.
  • The highest custom plan starts at $499/month for ten staff members and goes up to thousands monthly.

Why is it in the top 15

  • The extensive feature set and a platform used by many yoga studios

PROS

  • User-friendly interface that’s easy to navigate for both business owners and customers.
  • Has essential features for booking, scheduling, and managing classes, appointments, and events.

CONS

  • It might not be as specialized for specific industries, such as yoga studios, compared to some competitors.
  • The pricing structure, based on a tiered system with varying levels of access to features, may be confusing for some users.

BEST FOR

  • Independent yoga teachers
  • Small yoga studios offering multiple services

NOT FIT FOR

  • Yoga studios that require yoga studio management-specific workflows
  • Mid-size and large yoga studios

14. Team Up

Teamup is a general-purpose management platform developed to assist businesses in the fitness and wellness industry with their management needs. It was established in 2012, but DaySmart Software acquired it towards the end of 2022.

The acquisition brings uncertainty to many existing TeamUp customers and new users. The pricing has significantly increased since the purchase, and I suspect it will continue increasing to match the pricing of industry leaders such as Mindbody.

Teamup primarily serves fitness and wellness businesses such as gyms, fitness studios, CrossFit boxes, personal trainers, and wellness centers. Yoga studios are among the niches that Teamup aims to serve, but yoga studios are not the platform’s primary focus.

Key features of Teamup include class scheduling, membership management, payment processing, online booking, and reporting capabilities. While these features contribute to the software’s overall appeal, yoga studios may prefer a more specialized platform built for the needs of yoga studios.

It is one of the few platforms providing GoCardless (a platform used for direct debit payments in the UK) integration.

Teamup’s customer support is known for its responsiveness. However, with the acquisition and the fact that TeamUp is UK-based, users should consider the potential for timezone differences and other factors that might impact support availability.

Most TeamUp customers are in the UK, and it could be a good option for you if you have a yoga studio in the UK and require direct debit payment integration.

Price

The pricing of TeamUp depends on the number of active customers in your studio.

  • The base pricing starts at $99/month for up to 100 active customers
  • The higher end of pricing is $309/month for 600+ active customers

At the lower end, the pricing is expensive for smaller studios, and at the higher end, you will find much better yoga studio specific software platforms for a similar price.

Why is it in the top 15

  • Widely used platform by yoga studios in the UK
  • Used to offer an affordable price point, but this has changed after the acquisition by DaySmart Software.
  • Before the acquisition, the customers were highly loyal to TeamUp, and many used the platform for 5+ years.

PROS

  • Integration with GoCardless offering direct debit payments in the UK and Oceanic regions

CONS

  • Unfriendly pricing. Unaffordable at the low end and lacks value at the highest price point
  • Dated customer experience with the platform built in 2012

15. Vagaro

Vagaro is a general business management platform created to cater to the needs of salons, spas, and fitness studios. Currently, it serves various industries, including yoga studios. The critical issue with Vagaro is that it is built for the spa and hair salon industry, so the workflow is not entirely suited for yoga studios.

I like Vagaro’s user-friendly interface, and they’ve got one of the best appointment scheduling systems with automated reminders, waitlists, and online booking.

They also offer good marketing tools like email campaigns, text message marketing, and promotion tracking. The platform also provides a customer relationship management (CRM) system, staff management, inventory tracking, and reporting features.

However, some users have mentioned that the software can be slow occasionally, which can be a significant issue in a busy yoga studio. Also, the pricing is based on the number of users, so it might not be the most budget-friendly option for smaller yoga studios which would find it to be the best fit.

The platform does offer a wide range of tools that could make managing your yoga studio a breeze and help you grow your clientele. However, the platform is not built for yoga studios, and the workflows are designed for the spa and salon industry.

Price

The pricing of Vagare depends on the number of active calendars, and each staff member will have a unique calendar.

  • The base pricing is $25/month for a single calendar
  • At the high end, Vagar can cost several thousand a month for large spas or saloons
